Zapier, Make and n8n

Connect DebtFlow to other tools without writing code: events in DebtFlow trigger workflows, and workflows create contacts, invoices or time entries in DebtFlow.
Status
The official apps for Zapier, Make and n8n are in preparation and have not yet been published in their directories. Until then, every platform already works today through its HTTP and webhook building blocks – see below.

Triggers

Triggers are based on webhooks: when a workflow is activated, the platform registers a webhook endpoint with DebtFlow; when it is deactivated, the platform removes it. Events therefore arrive immediately, without polling every minute.

A residents’ registration office request (Melderegisteranfrage) costs €19.99 plus VAT per request and requires the scope research:write. The creditor AI (scope ai:write) uses your account’s AI quota; once the quota is used up, the API responds with 429. Only grant these scopes to a connection if the workflow really needs them.

Authentication

  • Zapier and Make connect via OAuth 2.0: you sign in to DebtFlow and allow access. You can see and remove the connection under Settings → Apps.
  • n8n supports both: an API key (simple, ideal for self-hosted instances) or OAuth 2.0.

Already possible today: without an official app

Sending data to DebtFlow

In Zapier (“Webhooks by Zapier”, action Custom Request), Make (module HTTP → Make a request) or n8n (node HTTP Request), send a request to https://www.debt-flow.io/api/v1/… with the header Authorization: Bearer df_live_… and a JSON body. The fields each endpoint expects are listed in the API reference. For POST requests, set an Idempotency-Key derived from a unique ID of the workflow run, so that retries by the platform do not create duplicates.

Receiving events from DebtFlow

On the platform, create a webhook trigger (Zapier “Catch Hook”, Make “Custom webhook”, n8n “Webhook”), copy its URL and add it in DebtFlow under Settings → Webhooks as an endpoint with the events you want. Verifying the signature is optional but recommended.
